Care Assistants required for bespoke Supported & Independent Living Services in Chester for adults with Learning Disabilities & Physical Disabilities.

Part Time/Full Time/Bank Positions Available

We have several new & exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated care assistants to provide personal care, support and guidance to adults with Learning Disabilities & physical disabilities who live within supported living homes provided by the organisation.

The core values of our organisation are to enable service users to access a range of community based activities, progress and develop to achieve their hopes and dreams as well as providing emotional & physical support. The role is also to assist individuals with both learning & physical disabilities to realise and maintain optimum levels of independence and involvement in all aspects of their lives through arrangement of the environment, the provision of opportunities for physical and social activity, mental stimulation, involvement in groups and promotion of self-care and daily living. Within the role you will be responsible:
•To act as key worker for a number of service users, advocating for them & ensuring they are listened to & their needs met.
•Support the service users with a high level of physical support including personal care, moving & handling, access to adequate nutrition & hydration & all healthcare needs.
•Offer personalised care meeting the individual needs of the service users, this may include supporting service users with Epilepsy, Sensory Needs, Dysphagia etc.
•Support the service users to achieve their hopes and dreams in line with their individual capabilities using an Outcomes Based Approach.

The Candidate Ideally you will have:
•A minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Previous Care is desirable but not essential as full training is given.
•Full flexibility with regards to hours.
•Experience preferred working with people who have learning disabilities - Desirable.
•Experience of Residential Care settings/Supported Living and awareness of the needs of people with learning & physical disabilities.
•Excellent communication skills including the ability to understand quickly and respond.
•Ability to work as part of a team.
•Ability to undertake all aspects of personal care, moving & handling, medication needs etc.
•Ability to contribute to assessment and care planning and undertake key worker responsibilities.
•Awareness of person centred planning processes.
•Understanding of basic Health and Safety principles e.g., Risk Assessment and Manual Handling requirements

Current rates of pay are £8.00 per hour with increasing rates of pay for senior staff members
