The Company is one of the UK’s leading independent Food service Wholesalers supplying multi temperature products to food service clients throughout the UK. They are seeking a National Account Manager to join their National Accounts Team and manage the Care Sector. The position is permanent and home based.

They deliver a great range of multi temperature food products, including their butchery and fresh range to caterers across the country from their strategically placed depots. Key Features of the Role:

As a National Account Manager for the Care Sector your job role will be to achieve or exceed sales and margin targets within your defined portfolio of accounts. Your accounts value will exceed £500k per account and will typically be in a range of £1m – 5m annual turnover.

Responsibilities of the role are:

• Achieve or exceed ledger financial targets in a manner conducive to maintaining ongoing business.
• Establish strong relationships both externally to include suppliers and internally to maintain business and achieve business goals and targets.
• Represent the Business in the best possible light at all times.
• Ensure Account agreed KPI's are met or exceeded.
• Carry out category reviews to change customer's products or seek product innovation to achieve targets with a high degree of understanding and sympathy to individual customer's needs and requirements.
• Carry out price reviews as scheduled by account with a view to achieving target
• Provide fully detailed product forecasts to Inventory as necessary with a view to achieving KPI’s
• Attend Commercial/Marketing organised events as directed. (Trade Shows/Speed Dating etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Regional and / or National Account Manager with experience having been gained with a delivered food service wholesaler and specifically in the Care Sector.
You will be a “foodie”, a confident presenter with good food industry knowledge and the ability to build strong foundations with customers ensuring they can provide great Customer Service
You will need to be highly self-motivated person to achieve the goals and targets, able to work efficiently and independently within time constraints and ability to influence others.

The position is home based but you will ideally be living in the” central belt “of the country. e.g. South of Manchester.
You will have a thorough, in-depth knowledge of client, market and sector trends specific to the Care Sector.
Highly developed analytical skills are essential, as are well developed IT/ PC skills (including Excel), and you must be able to interpret data and information in various formats.
You will be numerate, have excellent presentation and communication skills, be able to communicate at all levels, and be decisive, assertive and persuasive.
You will be innovative and demonstrate originality and creativity in solving problems and meeting the needs of the clients and the sector.
You will enjoy a high level of autonomy and therefore must be highly self-motivated to achieve agreed goals.
You will have strong negotiating skills and able to manage your own time effectively.
You will have the ability to develop and communicate sound commercial arguments, and have a thorough understanding of the cost drivers and their impact on our client’s operations and their customer.
A full driving licence is a prerequisite as there will be a requirement for travel throughout the country at different times.
