Acorn Recruitment is currently recruiting for numerous Packing & Process Operatives to join our client in Saltney, Chester.

Responsibilities / Key Tasks:

* Work reliably and accurately, adhering to all work instructions, process methodology and this must include accurate input of product information onto the computer system and the weighing of all raw materials.
* You must ensure all machinery, mechanical handling equipment and safety devices are used in accordance with company procedure and Health & Safety training.
* Operate processing machine to produce products as required.
* Ensure all raw materials are checked prior to use, for quality, cleanliness, batch coding and use by dates.
* All waste is to be handled in a hygiene manner and your hands are washed prior to you returning to your normal duties.
* Ensure all raw materials that are being returned to the warehouse are clean, sealed to prevent foreign contamination and accurately labelled with all the relevant information and weighed.
* Ensure all chilled stock is stored in a chilled environment up until point of use
* Ensure all frozen stock is return immediately after use.
* Ensure when handling all hazardous substances including food grade acids and dusty products that the appropriate protective equipment is worn.
* Ensure all cleaning chemical are handled in accordance with company training and diluted to the manufacturers recommended levels.
* Ensure all production/cleaning records are updated on a daily basis.
* Liaise with Quality control & your direct line regarding any non-conformity, relating to incoming goods.
* Report any raw material loses or over usage to your direct line manager
* Ensure that all raw materials entering the processing areas are is stored safely and efficiently and that the goods inwards area is kept clear, clean and tidy at all times.
* Any other duties which might reasonably be requested in association with this role in order to meet the needs of the business.
* Adhere to all company rules and procedures, paying particular attention to health and safety.

Essential Criteria:

- UK driving licence and own transport
- Experience working within a Production environment
- Somebody who is looking for longevity within a role, and is willing to be trained and progress within the company

The working week is Monday - Friday, and the shift pattern is as follows:

Day Shift - 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm, alternate weeks, 37.5 hours per week

Night Shift - 10pm - 6am, 37.5 hours per week

In return, the client offers a competitive salary of either £14,976 per annum (day shift), or £17,971 (night shift). Our client also offers numerous other benefits such as 31 days holiday, discretionary company bonus and optional overtime.
