I am currently recruiting for a senior practitioner to work within the North West on a busy yet supportive SGO team based in the fostering and adoption service.

The Fostering and Adoption Service manages the short and long term care arrangements for children. The service recruits, trains and assesses a diverse range of prospective foster and adoption carers, carefully matching and placing children with approved carers who can meet their individual needs.

As a senior practitioner you will have the following duties:
-Recruiting, training, preparing and assessing prospective foster carers and adopters, including compiling complex assessment reports to present to the fostering panel.
-Ensuring high quality foster care is available that meets the specific needs of children looked after and that all the standards and regulations are met.
-To hold and sustain a caseload consisting mainly of the most sensitive, complex and difficult cases to which you will be able to bring to bear the highest standards of professional ability and a considerable depth of knowledge in relevant legislation in policy and practice methods.
-To liaise and negotiate with other professionals in statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families

As a Senior Practitioner you will meet the following requirements:
-Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
-HCPC Registration as a Registered Social Worker
- 2-4 weeks notice period
- Be able to pass a full CRB check and provide five years worth of references
- Have experience within supported lodging and staying put
