Finance Officer - Accounts Payable
Salary - £26,917
Permanent, Hours – 35 per week

Our client is currently seeking a Finance Officer to maintain the Association’s Purchase Ledger, ensuring that it is run run efficiently and effectively.

Reporting to the Management Accountant you will ensure that all invoices and credit notes are posted accurately in compliance with Association’s policies and procedures. You will also effectively review supplier accounts for payment by BACS or cheque, prepare invoices for the payment run and process the BACS run.

Further to this you will assist in the filing of purchase invoices and reports to enable easy retrieval of information and ensure direct debits are processed and that invoices are approved. Other duties will include assisting in the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts and working papers within the agreed time scales in time for the annual external audit.

The successful candidate will possess a GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent, you will also have or be studying towards a professional accounting qualification. Working knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles along with previous purchase ledger experience are essential.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral are required as well as the ability to carry out detailed reconciliations and accurate data entry. Highly proactive and motivated and you will also have excellent administration skills.
