Job title: Senior House Manager

Location: Blackpool

Salary: £11.80 for 16 hours

We have been a charitable housing organisation for nearly 60 years. Throughout this time our residents are always at the heart of what we do and the services we provide. We are currently looking for a Senior House Manager at our home in Blackpool.

As a Senior House Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of the house/s, providing effective support to staff and residents and maintain/develop our services.

Key Objectives:

To develop services that are accessible to the diverse population of older adults living in the community
Support residents to sustain their tenancy and live as independently as possible in the community
Maximise the quality of life of every resident living in the house(s)
To oversee the management of the house(s) to ensure they are run efficiently and offer Value for money to residents
To develop management systems to facilitate continuous assessment and improvement of support services to very sheltered housing residents’
To ensure the Key Performance Indicators, Quality Assessment Framework criteria and the relevant Audit Commissions Key Lines of Enquiry are met or exceeded
To effectively manage communications across the locality/region
To improve the reputation of the service/s and raise the profile of Abbeyfield in the locality/region

Travel may be required to other locations and venues for training / meetings, therefore, a willingness and ability to travel is essential. You will ideally have a current, clean driving licence.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience of working in a supported housing/health/social care environment and hold an appropriate qualification
A passion for and track record of success
Experience of developing and delivering services through customer involvement
Organised and performance focussed
Highly developed interpersonal and presentation skills
Excellent written skills
Self-motivated, flexible and able to manage own workload
IT Literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Experience
A customer service ethos
Ability to carry out all aspects of the role to a high standard at all times


Understanding of the issues surrounding tenant participation
Understanding of national health and social care strategy for older people
Working knowledge of landlord and tenant obligations
