My client is a leading analytical testing company for the pharmaceutical industry and due to an exciting period of growth they are now looking for an experienced QC Lab Manager to join their team.

**My client will also consider a contract position and the salary package will be increased to reflect this**

The purpose of this role is to ensure that Quality Control (QC) procedures are conducted in compliance with standards of GMP/GLP practices, thereby providing continuous support to our product quality.

Day to Day responsibilities will include:
• Responsible for managing analytical method validation / re-validation.
• Responsible for managing on-going analytical R&D work including method development, stability testing.
• Review and check lab work for accuracy and compliance with GMP and specifications.
• Ensure that analytical results are checked, approved, recorded and available for inspection.
• Responsible for the management and maintenance of laboratory instruments including calibration and validation.
• Responsible for the accurate collation of analytical data and providing interpretation of trends in order to highlight concerns to product quality.
• Maintain the specification update program to ensure that updates are performed in a timely manner
• Train new members of the team.
• Oversee the safety, health and environmental aspects of the department ensuring that staff operate within company policies and practices and that the laboratory meets the highest standards of GLP.

Role overview:
As the Quality Control Manager we require somebody with suitable lab experience and confidence to act as the responsible person to manage the daily operational aspects of the QC Analytical Lab. The position is intended to provide technical expertise and efficiencies to the QC lab.

Responsibilities :
• Responsible for maintaining the compliance of the laboratory in accordance with EU GMP.
• Plan and schedule workload of the laboratory to tight deadlines ensuring dock to stock times are met and responding to additional/ad-hoc testing requests in a timely fashion.
• Recruitment, training & disciplining Quality Control staff in accordance with company personnel policies.
• Take direct line management responsibility for QC laboratory
• Coordinating Stability studies and associated reporting.
• Conduct laboratory investigations and ensure any lab deviations and CAPAs are completed and closed within agreed timelines.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements and promote continual improvement of KPIs.
• Represent QC department to external and internal auditors.
• Identify areas of efficiencies
• Ensure that the stability program is followed and testing is carried out effectively.
• Prepare protocols and reports for quality control projects as required.
• Reports that interpret trends
• Checked, approved and recorded analytical results
• Training records
• Continuous new ways of working to reduce time wastage
• Cost savings in the supply chain
• Experience of budgets and accountability of department spend
• Ensure a lab is resourced with Kit and staff adequately
• Ensuring KPI’s are met.

• Science based bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Preferred)
• Product or Pharma industry experience
• Experience in Wet Chemistry with lab management experience (Essential)
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Essential)
• Working for a contract lab would be extremely advantageous
• Must have exposure to the LIMS system
• Managing staff (essential)
