Monday - Friday 08:30 17:30
Saturday 08:00 – 12:00 (rota alternative)
Basic Salary depending on candidate, experience and qualifications

Our Client is part of one of the UK’s largest, and privately owned automotive retail groups and is now looking to recruit an additional vehicle technician to join their already successful aftersales team based in Bury St Edmunds. In return, the successful candidate will be offered a good basic salary including bonus (based on efficiency etc.), full support and ongoing training.

The role of Vehicle Technician consists of:

- Carrying out of servicing and general repairs to customer vehicles
- Accurately detect and report on any additional faults found, ensuring all work is completed to
satisfactory manufacturer and company standards within agreed time frames

The successful Service/Vehicle Technician will possess the following:

- Be qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in motor vehicle repair
- Be a nominated MOT Tester (advantageous but not essential)
- Have experience gained within a main franchised environment or established independent garage
- Possess a stable career history
- Possess good general technical and diagnostic skills
- Work towards team achievements, completing health checks advising on additional work found
- Be self-motivated, always striving to reach and surpass targets set
- Have a common sense approach and be able to work within a regulatory/process orientated
- Able to communicate effectively on all levels
- Have good computer skills and willing to undertake training as deemed necessary
- Be PC literate along with a good understanding of service and repair schedules and job card completion
- Live in or within a reasonable commute of the Bury St Edmunds area.
- Have a full UK driving licence (essential)

The successful candidate will be a keen and enthusiastic worker who wants to earn good bonuses through efficiency. The candidate will have strong communication skills and undertake all tasks in the given time.

Your role will include, all tasks requested by the workshop controller and Service Manager, accurately and skilfully undertaking the repairs, MOT and servicing of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer and industry guidelines and fulfilling all tasks to the customer’s complete satisfaction, amongst other things.
