An opportunity exists within MASS for a physics / engineering / computer science / mathematics graduate to provide specialist support to the planning, execution, analysis and development of platform protection tactics in a modelling and simulation environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The specification and generation of models for simulating the systems, subsystems and components of non-communications RF EO and IR systems such as radars, missile seekers and other EW systems. Working as part of a specialist team you will use modelling software to develop signal processing elements of tracking systems. You will be required to program a graphical simulation environment, utilising skills and experience in research, mathematical modelling and analysis. The models will then be used to carry out threat vulnerability analysis and countermeasures development following which you will provide advice to customers based on analysis results.

The candidate must be a self-starter and shall be responsible for discrete tasks of specification, design, modelling, testing, validation, and results analysis.

The candidate must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and competent team-player who can communicate clearly.

This position includes a requirement to travel in support of customer meetings. This position is part of a small team of analysts.

The candidate must be eligible for UK MoD clearance for access to the appropriate security level.

Mandatory Skill Requirements:

Ability to program in MATLAB or equivalent program;
Knowledge of MS Office;
Ability to process and analyse large and complex data sets from multiple sources;
Ability to assimilate complex concepts;
Team-working; Ability to work with minimum supervision;
Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-experts both written and orally;
Hold, or be prepared to undergo, UK NSV Security Clearance;
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skill Requirements:

Knowledge of RF and/or IR threat systems, defensive aids suites and countermeasures;
Advanced MATLAB / SIMULINK skills;
Experience in the use of modelling and simulation of complex control systems;
Knowledge of the Electronic Warfare / Defence / Radar markets;
Experience or knowledge of electronic warfare principles and air platform protection requirements.
