Reserving Analyst | London | Insurance | Lloyd’s

Our client is looking for an Actuarial reserving analyst to join the project team and support a transformation programme. Seeking someone with previous reserving experience within the non-life insurance market.

The transformation project will dramatically enhance the reserving capabilities and the end to end reserving process. The starting project will involve the migration to a new ResQ model, to then be followed up by an extensive automated framework.

Role Purpose:

  • Work with the project team to parameterise new reserving models in ResQ (development curves, IELRs, method selection etc.) and can articulate and document key judgments to senior actuaries.
  • Support an impact assessment of the new models compared to existing results.
  • Implement new reserving controls and work within a peer review framework.
  • Perform testing of new models.
  • Perform testing of data imports.
  • Perform texting of financial bookings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic record including at least a 2:1 classified degree or equivalent.
  • Part-qualified actuary

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a non-life insurer, preferably in a reserving team
  • Working knowledge of ResQ: data loads, model parametrisation and use of the reporting features (incl Excel Add-in)
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Lloyd’s experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of producing Solvency II technical provisions would be beneficial as would any report production experience (e.g. Reserving committee packs).
