Associate Specialist/ Specialist Doctor - Tyler Ward
Confident with assessing and dealing with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, you’ll work with a supportive multidisciplinary team to provide tailored care for our service users.
We offer services to men suffering from acute periods of mental illness, with a rapid admission response for critical cases and longer term, on-going, low security care for men with behavioural issues, schizophrenia and problems with substance misuse. From the outset, our focus is on reintegration, supporting service users to develop the practical and personal skills they need to leave secure care.
As part of a dynamic MDT, you’ll join us in taking a whole person approach to the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders under the supervision of our Consultants. With responsibility for acute physical healthcare needs, you’re passionate about providing the best interventions for service users, and ensuring the safety and development of your team and the inpatients in your care. You’ll be available for on-call cover when necessary.
With 4 years post-medical degree experience, and at least 2 years in a psychiatric setting, you’ll ideally be Section 12 approved. Able to demonstrate the abilities, experience and skills needed to deal effectively and constructively with conflict in challenging situations, you have taken an active part in service improvement and in developing your knowledge and skills in the use of psychological treatments.
In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary and a range of benefits including:
- Teaching and CPD programmes
- Generous study and exam leave
- Financial support for further training and personal development
- Active participation in clinical governance
- Appraisal and peer supervision
- Possible rotation between services
- Contributory pension scheme
- Free life insurance
- Subsidised meals on duty
- Comprehensive employee assistance programme and discount centre
- Health Cash Plan
