Day Nursery in Wimbledon are currently seeking passionate Nursery Nurses & Nursery Assistants to join their growing team. The Setting is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday - Friday, 07:00-19:00 and caters for up to 90 children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years.

The Nursery prides itself on creating a home from home atmosphere for the children and all age groups integrate with each other allowing each child the opportunity to learn from their peers. The Setting also benefits from having a range of brand new age appropriate resources to help every child reach their full potential whilst learning through play.

This position will be working children aged between 3 months to 5 years and you will be responsible for ensuring the children reach their highest potential throughout their time at the nursery.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring all the children reach their highest potential throughout their development
  • Providing high quality care for the children within the setting
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with children and parents
  • Implementing the EYFS curriculum
  • Providing exciting activities for all the children
  • Completing observations, planning and any additional paperwork for your key children
  • Assisting and supporting other staff within the room
  • Discussing the children’s progress with their parents or guardians
  • Following the nurseries policies and procedures throughout the setting
  • Completing risk assessments within the room and the garden
  • Ensuring the children have a safe and stimulating environment
  • Attending parent and staff meetings
  • Working with parents/carers of special needs children to give full integration in the Setting
  • Preparing and completing activities to suit each childs stage of development
  • Being prepared to help where needed throughout the nursery, including certain domestic tasks i.e preparation of meals and snacks
  • Ensuring all children are collected by someone known to the nursery
  • Keeping an accurate record of achievement file on your key children

All candidates must have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working with children aged 3 - 18 months
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum & Safeguarding policies
  • Great communication skills both written & verbal
