Human Resources Manager

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum plus benefits, dependent on skills and experience

Hours: Full Time, 35 hours a week

Location: Knightsbridge, London

Our client is a small overseas owned Bank with a single office comprised of 43 staff based in Knightsbridge, London. The Bank is incorporated in the UK, regulated by the PRA and FCA, and has a Board composed of Shareholder representative Non-Executive Directors and Independent Non-Executive Directors. The main product lines of this business are Property Development lending, Personal Banking, Trade Finance and Treasury.

HR Manager - The Role:

The HR Manager is responsible for the planning and management of the HR function. They will provide leadership and advice on all people-related issues and build effective working relationships with everyone across the Bank.This is an interesting and diverse role, the successful candidate must be a HR Generalist who has hands on current experience in a UK Regulated Bank, including direct experience in the Senior Managers and Certification Regimes (SM & CR). The successful candidate will need to ensure that operational processes for SM & CR remain compliant and become embedded in the culture of the firm.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to maintain the current level of service and take it forward to the next phase of development, with a focus on creating a Performance Management and Learning culture.

HR Manager - Person Specification:

Applicants must:

  • Be qualified to at least MCIPD or an equivalent law degree
  • Have a minimum of 7 years` HR experience in the UK banking sector with at least 2 years` at a senior level (senior HRBP or Manager)
  • Have direct experience in the Senior Managers and Certification Regimes (SM & CR).
  • Demonstrate current experience and relevant regulatory experience in a UK Regulated Bank
  • Be up to date with employment law and HR best practices
  • Be HR generalist
  • Evidence a commercial mind set to deliver practical HR
  • Have consultancy and advisory skills
  • Be hands on and strategic
  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Be able to develop and provide appropriate management information to the Executive Committee and / or Board as appropriate
  • Be able to manage budgets
  • Be highly organised
  • Have excellent communications skills - both written and oral
  • Be able to manage external providers (e.g. payroll, benefit companies, recruitment agencies)
