A PRU for secondary aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD) is currently looking to recruit an English Teacher to teach students at KS3 and KS4 level. For this English Teacher role, you must have QTS and experience teaching students up to GSCE English. If you have experience leading functional skills then this will also be part of the role as many students will not sit their GCSEs in English/Maths but will complete functional skills instead.

The ideal English teacher:

  • Has experience teaching a range of Special Needs, particularly SEMHD students
  • Can use a range of behaviour management techniques
  • Has taught English up to GCSE level
  • Has QTS

This PRU caters for up to 110 students aged 11-16 who have been excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream school. They provide a broad and balanced curriculum that aims to meet the needs of all students within the provision. Most students will have been excluded for at least a term but there is also a short term provision for up to 10 students who have been excluded for more than 15 days from 4 local Secondary Schools as part of a behaviour partnership.

The position will be to start in September and the school would like to meet potential candidates as soon as possible. If this sounds like the ideal role for you then send through your CV today.
