Our client, a leading brand within the Luxury Retail / Consumer Market and household name as a leading supplier of high-end beverages is looking for a Reporting Accountant to assist within the Accounts Department.

MUST BE Finalist or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Reporting to Group

  • Monthly reporting to Group of P&L and quarterly reporting of Balance Sheet under IFRS
  • Working efficiently and diligently to ensure all internal and external deadlines are met
  • Liaising with the Business controllers to ensure accuracy of information reported
  • Responding to queries raised by Group on reported performance
  • Period reconciliation of inventory to Group

General ledger management

  • Preparation and posting of all month end journals for prepayments, accruals, payroll etc.
  • Monthly reconciliation, analysis, clearing and preparation of all Balance Sheet accounts

Fixed assets

  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
  • Ensuring all capital expenditure is captured and accounted for correctly
  • Monthly depreciation journals

Year end

  • Assisting in the preparation of the year end reporting pack for Group and external auditors
  • Assisting with the preparation of the annual Statutory Financial Statements under UK GAAP FRS 101


  • This part of the role will include, but is not limited to; corporation tax, tax award schemes and PAYE Settlement Agreement. Previous exposure to corporation tax is not a pre-requisite, but a working knowledge is an advantage.


  • Monthly reporting of local costs of Regional HQ; managing relationship with appropriate stakeholders

Internal Control

  • Assisting the Finance Manager in annual Internal control declarations
  • Documentation, review & reappraisal of financial and non-financial internal procedures and processes


  • Supporting the Financial Reporting Manager with ad hoc queries, analysis and projects
  • Be a positive ambassador to raise and maintain the profile of the Finance team within the wider company

Education: A graduate, solid A level results. Finalist or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Languages: English

Professional experience & know how:

  • Experience, preferably in the FMCG, consumer goods sectors or medium size accountancy practice.
  • Experience of working within or with a small / medium enterprise

Technical & management skills

  • Excellent IT skills, notably Excel (complex formulas & pivots plus manipulation of large quantities of data); operational knowledge of SAP is an advantage;
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure challenging deadlines are met
  • Previous exposure to Corporation Tax desirable
  • Application of absorption cost accounting
