We’re looking for a SEO Content Manager to join our expanding SEO team. This role is responsible for driving the performance and growth of Trainline in international markets working alongside your colleagues in PR/Social, PPC, Affiliate and CRM. The role is a hybrid content development and inbound marketing role aimed to increase the visibility of Trainline in major search engines.

The role requires applicants with a passion for digital marketing, content and creative thinking who can generate ideas for increasing the web presence of the UK’s largest train ticketing business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work together with the Head of SEO to create content strategies, implementation plans and campaigns to meet our business objectives and KPIs to maximise ROI.
  • Develop content strategies, project plans and campaigns that meet business KPIs and maximise ROI potential.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the SEO content team.
  • Responsible for the acquisition or creation, uploading and maintenance of online content (multi-country, multi-lingual sites).
  • Proactively lead innovative digital content solutions and build fantastic working relationships with colleagues in other disciplines within the business, including paid channels, to ensure an integrated approach content campaigns.
  • Develop the content team and pro-actively lead strategic direction of the content, operational excellence and providing quality control to ensure content is developed in line with brand guidelines.
  • Engage with third parties to determine content opportunities and customer needs.
  • Support the Head of SEO to plan and develop the global content strategy, style and appearance of digital media.
  • Evaluate the customer experience throughout channels and touch points.
  • Monitor and compile internal updates on industry and relevant technology changes for wider stakeholders.
  • Build/implement robust dashboards for monitoring and reporting on content performance that is suitable for the c-suite through to more in-depth insights for the SEO team to implement.
  • Inspire, manage, motivate, coach and engage the team to deliver on the business and personal objectives set.
  • Support and develop direct reports with their own 12-month objectives that contribute to business and self-growth
  • Responsible for management of time and productivity of all team members, including establishing and managing regular status meetings to discuss challenges, projects and opportunities.
  • Optimise Trainline landing pages to match the searches within your local market.
  • Create and post blog content, landing page copy and occasional social media posts for the UK and Europe.
  • Develop ideas for socially shareable content, to distribute on blogs, social media and external websites.
  • Checking content and copywriting for local accuracy, readability and effectiveness.
  • Update media using Photoshop, Illustrator or other appropriate editing software that follows brand guidelines.
  • Use keyword research tools to optimise SEO-specific web pages.
  • Monitor competitor performance in local search engines and feedback insights into your localised marketing strategy.
  • Monitor ranking performance for key search terms across markets.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in SEO.
  • Google Squared or similar industry training/qualification
  • Experience with a wide range of SEO tools such as Searchmetrics, Screaming frog, Botify, Deepcrawl, Majestic, AHREFs, Hitwise, Similarweb, SEMrush etc.
  • Certified in-depth knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
  • Technical understanding of website coding languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX with the ability to troubleshoot and identify errors that can affect content performance.
  • Excellent understanding across a range of content management systems (CMS).
  • Website project management and co-ordination experience with digital and design agencies to ensure SEO best-practices are implemented for new client websites.
  • Experience in cross-channel digital media planning to create and instruct integrated campaigns across search engine marketing (PPC), paid/biddable social platforms, digital display and programmatic, as well as organic social and blogging platforms.
  • Excellent presentation delivery skills.
  • Proficient design skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
