My client is a leading, award-winning, global search marketing agency. From their London office they help local, regional and global brands to grow and thrive.

Role Overview:

An experienced, confident, slick and commercially-savvy SEO Account Director is required to lead a team managing high-profile clients and delivering significant revenue.

They will have excellent project management skills - ensuring projects run efficiently, deliver on set objectives, remain within budget and are effectively reported to all stakeholders. They will lead the largest account in the team, an international high profile client, where coordinating with our sister agencies across Europe/EMEA to help them plan and execute SEO campaigns in their local markets will be a key requirement.

SEO activity will be diverse ranging from technical, content and various methods of link building such as advocacy engagement. A key part of the role is that SEO AD and his/her team builds relationships on the phone with our clients and contacts. They will help support the larger account team and wider business on various projects and global coordination.

This position manages direct reports including executives, analysts and account managers in addition to specialist resources in outreach and content. Experience in growing and developing teams to match a growing client base is essential for success in this role.

Crucial to the role is proactively providing incremental value through developing relationships with our agency partners, upselling through existing clients and leading the SEO portion of new business RFPs and pitches.

The right candidate will demonstrate participation in the SEO industry such as speaking events, attendance of conferences and thought leadership in the SEO space, regularly publishing content on updates in the industry to educate clients and agency partners.

Roles & Responsibilities:

People - 10%

  • Perform regular appraisals and 1 to 1s and develop annual personal development plans
  • Be accountable for accuracy and relevancy of work produced by the team
  • Uphold team culture and minimise staff turnover through development of direct reports
  • Manage every stage of successful recruitment campaigns

Product - 10%

  • Produce regular pieces of thought leadership such as POVs and other articles
  • Contribute toward product innovation and development to ensure leading industry offering
  • Produce compelling case studies to showcase success in various SEO fields
  • Produce minimum nomination-worthy SEO award entries

Partners- 10%

  • Ensure team is trained in toolset best practices to maximise value from vendor costs
  • Actively contribute toward vendor assessments and feedback on how to improve their products
  • Coordinate resource and deliverables between international offices when required
  • Assist in the rollout of initiatives from global

Project Management - 50%

  • Take full accountability for successful campaign delivery
  • Lead the planning and implementation of campaigns across the EMEA region, including the management of international SEO teams within the EMEA region as required
  • Take full accountability for ongoing maintenance of client spend through proactive account management and foresight
  • Brief specialist teams (analytics, authority, technical, content) where required in order to meet client KPIs
  • Conduct keyword research and social listening to expand organic search footprint
  • Produce detailed and accurate client reports and competitor analysis
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of clients’ accounts to identify trends or issues in order to raise them with the SEO Specialist or SEO Analyst.

Profit and Pipeline - 10%

  • Provide support in business development and pitches for new and retainer business
  • Develop relationships within the building and network in order to uncover new business opportunities
  • Overall SEO financial management such as POs, invoicing, forecasting and reconciliation.

General Operations - 10%

  • Overall SEO financial management such as POs, invoicing, forecasting and reconciliation
  • Ensure policy and procedure is followed by team members at each stage of the project
  • Actively contribute and present at promotional activities such as Reprise Media’s Discovery events
  • Participate in weekly Management WIP meetings
  • Share best examples of work and industry news in the weekly SEO Circuit Board meetings
  • Host weekly team WIP to triage issues and delegate weekly tasks
