We are looking for an intelligent and dynamic Programme Development and Fundraising Officer who will play a vital role in the charity's mission to support excellence in higher education throughout the Commonwealth and beyond. The role will enable this leading international education charity to deliver development impact and strengthen capacity within universities globally.

This UK-registered charity who have over 500 members in over 50 countries, with two-thirds based in low and middle-income countries. They have a long track record in driving innovation in higher education management and maintain a portfolio of high quality and high impact programmes that are bringing sustainable benefits to universities across a range of countries.


The role
Working closely with colleagues across the Programmes team and external stakeholders, you will take a lead role in developing new project ideas and attracting funding to turn them into reality. The role will enable the charity to deliver development impact, strengthening capacity within universities globally.

As Programme Development and Fundraising Officer, you will:
Conceptualise and design high impact projects
Identify funding opportunities and cultivate relationships with donors and partners
Develop concept notes and funding applications, managing the full process
Liaise with prospective partners and facilitate their participation in project design
Communicate and report the impact of projects to donors and colleagues


The Candidate:
We are looking for an intelligent and dynamic individual who can create opportunities to drive this important work forwards. You would be expected to develop a keen interest in and an understanding of the charity's mission to support excellence in higher education for the benefit of individuals and societies across the globe.

Proven experience of project development (Prince 2 Qualification of similar desired but not essential)
Proven experience of successful grant writing
Proven experience of identifying and cultivating funding opportunities
An understanding of issues in higher education, ideally in a developing country context
A very high standard of written English
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Proven experience of successful grant writing.
An understanding of issues in higher education, ideally in a developing country context and of trends in international development funding.
