Job Title: Senior Management Information Officer (Education)
Location: Hounslow, West London
Positions: Two positions - 1 x 12 months / 1x Permanent
Department: Children's and Adults' Services
Section: Children's Services Management Information Team

Purpose of role:
Take this senior role, and you will provide statistical and other information to support management decision making within the department while fulfilling our statutory reporting obligations. Education performance will be a strong focus of the role: you will take the lead in the collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of statistical information on schools.

Key accountabilities:
1. To work effectively as part of the Management Information Team to meet the educational performance reporting and data requirements of the Council and delivery of the traded service to schools.
2. To meet the corporate data analysis and reporting requirements in respect of educational performance in Hounslow.
3. To ensure that all information complies with the data protection standards and requirements of the department.
4. To contribute to the identification and implementation of new technology and systems in the management information team and across the department to improve availability and dissemination of information within the Department to schools and to the general public.

Knowledge and experience:
o Experience of working in an information management role, ideally within a Children's Services or similar setting, which involved statutory returns and reporting on performance indicators
o Knowledge of Management Information Systems (MIS),databases, management and data reporting tools
o A good knowledge of statistics and their application, gained through a relevant qualification or a key element of a qualification (e.g. part of a degree course) or through relevant experience
o Experience of data analysis, reporting and presenting
o Practical knowledge, technical expertise and considerable experience of managing data collections, ideally with in a Children's Services or a similar setting
