Technical Assistant – Stem Cell Biology

Fixed Term Contract – 15 Months

Location – South Wales

The role of Technical Assistant role will report to the Process Science Manager and you will provide technical support to the Process Science Team activities relating to development of processes and methods associated with new and existing products within Stem Cell Technologies.

The technical support element of the role will involve a variety of routine tasks including (but not limited to): media preparation, aliquot preparation, routine testing, equipment maintenance/calibration, laboratory and equipment cleaning and other housekeeping chores as required.

In addition to the technical support roles, full training will be provided to enable the technical assistant to support in-house cell culture manufacturing campaigns thereby rendering this an excellent opportunity to gain a foothold in the field of stem cell therapies (cell culture experience is advantageous though not essential).

Role Responsibilities

To perform regular stock checks and maintain laboratory supplies of raw materials and consumables.
To place orders for raw materials and consumables that meet the requirements of the CMC department
Maintain documentation relating to laboratory housekeeping and maintenance
Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks
Liaise with members of the CMC department in order to assess and improve laboratory housekeeping/maintenance procedures.
Support the Process science team laboratory activities by preparing and maintaining supplies of critical reagents
Following receipt of the necessary training, support Process Science Development activities as appropriate

About You

A Degree in a Life Scientific Discipline
Demonstrated experience of Laboratory housekeeping.
Cell Culture experience is advantageous though not essential.
Enthusiastic and passionate individual.
Excellent communication skills.
A willingness to flexibly adjust to the changing needs of an emerging stem cell therapy business.
