Our client; a luxurious country house hotel is looking for an Event Manager with a hotel background. The location is a 45 minutes’ drive from London and is a picturesque setting in the countryside of Berkshire.

The Events Manager will have a hotel background and candidates will need to have experience within Corporate, Social and Weddings to be considered.

Scope:
• Manage, lead and motivate the Events team to provide consistently outstanding service to guests
• Oversee management of all Events & Group business optimising business potential and building brand awareness
• Act as an ambassador of the hotel with colleagues, guests, and suppliers, looking after all aspects of a Group stay or Event Experience, including corporate, social, and marquee events

Main Duties:
To oversee management of all Events & Groups business to ensure consistently exceptional 5* service.
• Implement and monitor Events operating procedures & policies
• Work closely with F&B Manager, Executive Chef and Event Operations team to ensure that Operational standards and best practices are maintained throughout
• Oversee weekly distribution of all BEO and Group Sheets, chairing weekly Operational Meeting
• Ensure quality standards are being maintained by F&B teams and external contractors
• Develop and manage complex Event and Group projects, including marquee events
• Handling of all Events specific guest complaints, empowered to resolve challenges and ensure guest engagement

To work closely with the Group & Events Sales Team and Sales team to maximise business profit.
• Assist the Events and Group Sales Team in negotiating for business, including hotel site inspections and the entertainment of clients, travel agents etc.
• Ensure that all site inspections are carried out in line with DC Sales guidelines, and that follow up is actioned
• Maintain good knowledge of rooms and events space occupancy, and observe efficient diary management practises in order to maximise revenues
• Complete weekly Events forecast and attend the weekly Revenue Meeting

To mobilize & inspire team members to build a high performing team in order to achieve business goals & service standards

• Mentor, train & coach team members
• Manage rota work load & resource distribution within & across teams
• Interviewing, hiring, induction for new team members & succession planning of the team
• Identify training needs, design & track training for department
• Monitor & evaluate team performance & perform PDP for all team members

Requirements:
• Highly developed inter-personal skills with skills in persuasion, negotiation and influencing
• Ability to develop rapport with guests and colleagues from all different backgrounds and adapt style accordingly
• Experience and proven track record in Event Management
• Previous experience as an Event Manager in 4 star or 5 star hotels
• Good analytical, accuracy and numeric skills
• Well organised and priority focused and quick to adapt to change
• Strong decision making and excellent communication skills
• Expert knowledge of hotel systems — Opera and Delphi
