Communications Manager - NHS

I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS England for a Communications Manager. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 3 months, Monday to Friday and full time 37.5 hours a week.

Communications Manager - Job Purpose

Media Responsibilities:

Providing expert proactive and reactive media handling.

Assisting with the production of press releases, statements, internal briefings, blogs and reports to the highest standard.

Using your expertise and experience to identify the best channels and styles for specific audiences.

Maintaining excellent contacts within local, regional, national and trade media as well as with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Media monitoring and assisting with the evaluation of communications activities.

Communications Responsibilities:

Producing a broad range of written communications to the highest standard; using their expertise and experience to identify the right channels and styles for specific audiences.

Supporting colleagues from media, and Freedom of Information (FOI) teams to gather information and intelligence to ensure effective responses to the media and other stakeholders.

Communications Manager - Key Skills

The post holder is expected to provide and receive highly complex, highly sensitive or highly contentious information of which there may be are significant barriers to acceptance which need to be overcome using the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a key role in the team that requires excellent communications skills, and significant experience working in a dedicated press office environment
