About The Role

Halfords Autocentres have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager - Garage and Equipment to join the Category team. The role will be based at our Support Centre in Redditch.

Role Purpose

As the Procurement Manager - Garage and Equipment , you will be responsible for managing and optimising company spends on garage equipment. The job holder will be responsible for working to set budgeted spends on all areas and will be continuously working to improve efficiencies and make savings where relevant.

This role will report to the Procurement Manager GNFR and be a key member of the Commercial management team. Garage Equipment is a very important aspect of the business and is essential in keeping the garage network operational.

What will the role involve?

You will be responsible for identifying the best possible sources of garage equipment, taking in to account quality and cost to identify best value whilst supporting the Procurement Manager GNFR in the management of the GNFR category; identify savings opportunities and improve efficiency.

You will introduce a more strategic approach to procurement and reduce the amount of time spent on transactional tasks, create a Category Plan for each of the managed categories that capture all relevant information and identify savings opportunities and utilise information technology to improve processes and management information.

Work within the department calendar of tenders to ensure that Halfords Autocentres are gaining best value from service provider contracts and working closely with Halfords Retail business to ensure that the group leverages the full potential available from tender processes.

Part of your role will be, to monitor supplier performance levels and ensure that SLA`s are being met; identify and manage poor performance accordingly, produce a monthly report detailing key activities, KPI`s for Equipment category and ensure that all suppliers are providing relevant management information to enable pro-active management of the categories.

What skills are we looking for?

You will have previous experience of GNFR procurement, Strong process management skills; ability to identify and re-work inefficient process and a High level of commercial acumen.

You will be customer focused; skilled at identifying customer needs, a strong negotiator, along with personal gravitas, to ensure credibility amongst supplier base. You will have the ability to influence the teams that you work with daily and inspire all colleagues around you while being able to interact effectively with Leadership team and be an accomplished presenter.

You will be a self starter, with the ability to act on own initiative and identify best way forward, have a positive attitude with a can-do spirit and ability to make things happen. You should be able to analyse and interpret large amounts of data and make fact based decisions. You will have strong engagement skills, with ability to bring key stakeholders along with them.
