A fantastic opportunity has arisen with one of our clients for a Quality Engineer to join an expanding team.

Duties:

  • To ensure that all of the work practices throughout the business are completed in accordance to TS16949 procedures
  • To ensure that all of the work practices throughout the business are completed in accordance to ISO14001 procedures
  • Maintain Quality documentation
  • To become a champion in customer specific requirements and systems.
  • To support feasibility studies
  • To evaluate existing processes and propose improvements to target
  • To complete visits at both customers and suppliers where required
  • To complete calibration studies on measuring equipment
  • To complete all relevant documentation relating to dimensional, material and environmental testing of initial samples (PPAP)
  • To carry out periodic testing on product, where required
  • To support Production on areas of quality concern
  • To evaluate existing processes and propose improvements to target
  • Respond to Customer and Supplier Quality needs
  • To complete corrective actions on customer return activities
  • To liaise with suppliers and implement supplier development programmes
  • Liaise with the customer, suppliers and relevant team members at all times during product development and initial manufacture
  • To complete project work in line with customer / business requirements
  • To complete visits at both customers and suppliers issuing reports where required
  • To work with Customer Engineering and Program teams on developing new products
  • To prepare and submit Project Status / APQP reports to NPI Teams, where required
  • To support the Manufacturing Team on "sample build" and "first build" of new major projects to ensure that ongoing efficiency is maximised
  • To support the costing and engineering team in selection of appropriate materials
  • To attend BOM pack review meetings where required

  • Understand and work within the business Quality system TS 16949
  • Understand and work within the business Environmental system ISO14001
  • Identify improved systems of work, through the continuous improvement system
  • Support the implementation of shop floor quality costing and performance measures
  • Identify opportunities to reduce "waste" and where applicable work towards achieving improvements
  • Identify their own needs that contributes to their own future development
  • Convene, run and / or attend meetings as and when required
  • Work within the companies Health & Safety Policy
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
