CMM Programmer & Operator

Role Responsibilities:

This role will involve writing new programs as well as scanning to accurately assess the compliance of physical components to assess products during our Verification Prototype phase.

Key duties:

- To write new programs from CAD models using PC-DMIS to measure parts. (Nb, software used: PC-DMIS 2015.1, CAD ++, Hardware: Romer Absolute Arm, with integral scanner.
- Laser scan, Log and verify/reject components and parts
- Support metrology Investigation/approval/concerns as appropriate.
- Preparation and completion of internal compliance documents
- To follow all relevant instructions, both written and verbal, and highlight any deficiencies observed in the process.
- Support product and assembly launch activities
- Inform the team leader of any problems that exist which may affect the quality of the product and VP build.
- Suggest and support corrective and preventative actions with the aim of better accuracy.
- To work safely at all times, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and reporting all Health and Safety concerns immediately.
- Work with the Engineering team to improve production performance agreed standards and work with team members as needed

Applicant requirements:

- 5 years' experience within a relevant Automotive Engineering environment
- Able to program with PC-DMIS
- Experience of using a Romer arm (or similar) and various other measuring equipment
- Competent/advanced experience with Excel, and word.
- Fully conversant with automotive quality tools and systems (TS16949 & ISO900)
- Excellent organisational, resolution and communication skills
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as being able to work within a small team.
- Good dexterity with ability to handle delicate parts sympathetically
