Reporting to Senior Support Worker / Team Leader / Service Manager

About our Client:
Our client are a prestigious company supporting thousands of Disabled people in the UK. They are currently looking for a number of Support Workers to join their team to work within their Residential Services.
The home is based in Copthorne, providing services for 40 adults with Physical Disabilities. The service consists of a main house plus six bungalows located in the grounds.

The Role:
·To provide direct support to people with a physical disability in order to maximise their life experience and thus their potential in exercising their rights as full and valued citizens within the community.
·To achieve the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct care and effective supervision of Staff Members.

·To assist and support people with a physical disability with the tasks entailed in maintaining and managing a home
·To provide assistance and support for people to administer and manage their own financial affairs.
·To maintain financial records of expenditure.
·To encourage and support people to develop domestic and personal hygiene skills, and where necessary offer practical assistance with personal care needs.
·To ensure that all individual service plans are implemented, monitored and reviewed.
·To ensure that people (or their advocates) are given meaningful choices and are fully involved in decision-making about their lives.
·To encourage and support people to participate fully in appropriately valued activities in their home, the local community and in wider areas.
·To develop and enhance opportunities for people to develop meaningful relationships.

Skills you'll Need:
·NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care
·Previous experience working with physically disabled people is desirable - minimum 6 months
·Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
·Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
·Team player
