Position: Electronics Technician.
Department: Production, Final Finishing Division.
Primary Function: Final configuration and test of equipment to Customer Order.
Description: The job mainly involves installation of various firmware modules and customer configuration files into newly built production units and testing the systems to specification.
This is carried out using both commercial and proprietary PC based Windows applications. Configured files are then downloaded to production units via various interfaces.
Full function & radio tests are then carried out.
Each unit’s details are also entered on a bespoke Production database.
One job/order may consist of single or multiple standard products configured to form a customer-specific system.
Other occasional activities:
Goods Inwards Inspection of OEM products.
Soldering, crimping, wiring and chassis build.
Keys skills required:
Knowledge of basic electronics is essential - ability to read circuit diagrams & fault find to component level would be an advantage.
Ability to work unaided (once trained) and complete customer orders on own initiative.
Keyboard skills are a must, with the understanding of how to use Windows-based programs and move/save different file types into various folders accurately.
Close attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, completing orders within tight deadlines.
You will be required to scrutinise both internal sales/customer orders and where necessary liaise with the Sales Dept to check and clarify all relevant information.
Flexibility: varying workloads may require you to provide assistance in other areas such as service/repairs from time to time.
