Performance Objectives

* An Electrical and Instrument technician's role primarily requires working within the Maintenance function, but must also be able to support modification and small projects within that discipline. An E&I technician's role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, calibration and testing of all Electrical, instruments and control equipment site wide. These activities can at time require support outside of normal working hours; this is achieved by forming part of a callout rota. All maintenance tasks and activities are reported using Ross maintenance management system, this tool will be used daily by technicians to issue and control work flow and it is you're responsibly for update this system to help identify plant failures.
* An E&I technician must work in accordance with site standards, procedures and legislation and keep up-to-date with current requirements by participating in internal and external training.
* Working as a team to maintain plant Instrument, electrical and control equipment as generated by the maintenance planning system.
* Demonstrate ability to cover all tasks in a timely manner.
* Interacts positively with all internal and external customers, suppliers and contacts.
* Working as part of a team sometime outside of your discipline to expand your knowledge and that of others.
* Communicate plant status and problems clearly using email and meetings.
* Extract key information by being respectful, listening and asking the right questions of the customer.
* Must be able to take simple electrical or instrument concepts and see it through to the completed item.
* Demonstrate an understanding of completing a task in a timely manner and in the simplest way to get the best results.
* Understands priority and sense of urgency of a task to minimise plant downtime and disruption.
* Being creative and imaginative in your work is essential to completing tasks to a high standard and efficiently.

Person Specification

* Approved Electrician with Industrial experience.
* IEE Wiring Regulations to current addition
* High Voltage Awareness
* Electrical Inspection and Testing
* Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Hazardous area equipment CompEx 1 to 4
* Understands general principles of static earthing and Lightening
* Ability to read drawings
* Basic IT Skills
* Advance IT Skills in control software
* DCS, PLC and I/O Exposure (Rockwell and Siemens)
* Knowledge of Industrial Communication protocols, Industrial Ethernet, Asi, Profibus and Hart
* Instrumentation Technology Knowledge and awareness.
* Instrumentation Installation, maintenance, test, calibration and Commissioning.
* Process Safety Awareness specifically Alarms, Interlocks and Safety Integrity Levels.
* Competent in Risk assessment, procedures and permitry
* Chemical Awareness
* Basic mechanical engineering skills
* Good understanding of plant equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers and valves technology.
* Ability to drive Fork lift and Mewps
* First Aid awareness
