My client is a well respected aerospace & defence organisation who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Buyer to join their dedicated team of purchasing professionals. The role is for an initial 12 month duration and is paying a rate of £27.42LTD Per Hour. Please find the role description below:

Job Description

Purpose of role: To direct and manage all the procurement / supply chain activities associated with defined EM projects.
The role includes the development of procurement / supply chain plans, and the associated engagement and management of suppliers, customers, projects and other stakeholders to deliver project contracted KPI's and objectives.

Key Technical Skills

Experience of Procurement / Supply Chain Department, Commercial and contractual acumen. Working understanding of tool sets and IT.
Management of cost drivers in the value chain and the principles of Total Cost of Ownership. Management of change programmes.
Risk & opportunity management

Good Mentoring skills Pro-active and self-motivated.
Subject matter expert on time delivery, cost and quality through the successful actions of the Supply Chain.

Top 6 Major Tasks and Activities:

Prepare the Procurement / Supply Chain plans and manage purchase orders for materials and services to deliver against contractual KPI's.
Manage, support and prepare outputs of deliverables and select suppliers i.a.w. with the departmental procedures and in line with customer KPI's and requirements.
Manage and support or negotiate all commercial, financial, and schedule elements of the subcontracts/project and any authorised changes in line with departmental procedures and customer requirements.
Pro actively support and deliver effective supplier management and customer service delivery.
Identify and implement business improvements resulting in cost saving opportunities.
Act as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers and customers (internal/external).

Qualifications: MICPS qualified or working towards qualification
