2nd Line Support engineer

Our dynamic financial services company is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer who will assist the IT Operations Manager with the development, maintenance and monitoring of the Company's IT Infrastructure, ensuring it performs as required by the business and remains secure. The role will be based in the Portsmouth offices, but some very occasional travel may be required.

Network uptime and hardware continuity is a key component of this role. The role will also help the existing IT team in providing first and second line support to our staff.

A successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours, be able to drive and own a vehicle. They will also be able to work in a team, or alone on projects and must be a self-motivated, technology and solution focused individual


* Respond to incoming calls in accordance with priorities and agreed service levels
* Provide excellent customer service to IT users
* Produce regular reports and commentary around service delivery for Service Review Meetings and KPI monitoring.
* Maintain the IT asset database to ensure consistency, accuracy and accountability
* Manage and maintain the mobile fleet, including ordering, bill analysis, cost control via the EMM portal


* Windows Server 2008/2012
* Microsoft Windows 10
* Active Directory and Group Policy administration and deployment
* Networking - LAN / WAN / TCP-IP / DNS / DHCP / VPN
* VMWare
* VoIP Telephony systems experience
* Office 2016/365
* Manage Engine Service Desk/Desktop Central experience
* Microsoft Desktop Optimization setup and deployment
* Backup
* Firewall setup/configuration preference Cisco
