About the Role:

We`re changing the way care is designed. Radically.

As an established charity dedicated to empowering people with learning disabilities to live the best life possible, we`re now embarking on an innovative, new project that will challenge the way support is designed and delivered.

Over the last 18 months, we`ve been researching, measuring and evidencing how we can improve outcomes for the people we support. Now, with the backing of the funding authority, we`re launching the Hft Expert Practitioner Model in a transition service for young adults with very complex needs and challenging behaviour.

This pioneering project promises to revolutionise the way support services are delivered; success here could mean radical innovation in how care and support is delivered across the nation. For you, it`s a unique opportunity to consolidate and grow your social care sector experience and knowledge, and be at the forefront of change.

As Expert Practitioner Manager, you`ll lead, coach and empower a team of 10 graduate trainee Expert Practitioners to creatively support adults with complex needs to meaningfully engage in their local community and live the best life possible. That begins with championing the concept with the team and across the sector, and continues with guiding and developing the team as they balance hands-on, daily support activities with the application of academic theory. You`ll also take care of the service`s every day operational administration, managing budgets and developing people.

About You:

The successful candidate will be of degree calibre and with good, hands-on experience gained in the care sector and at management level, you`ll understand the challenges associated with working with people who have learning disabilities and/or complex behavioural needs.

You`ll also have specific experience of Service Development, Research or Training. Most importantly, you`ll be able to enthuse and excite your team with your passion and commitment to making Hft`s Expert Practitioner Model work for the benefit of all.

You may have experience of the following: Expert Practitioner Manager, Service Manager, Practitioner Manager, Practice Manager, Registered Manager, Social Care Manager, Care Manager, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, NFP, Not for Profit etc.
