Our client is a well-established award winning architectural firm on the lookout for an industry professional to join their expanding team based on the outskirts of Slough, Berkshire.
They specialise in the production of industry leading architecture, with a particular focus on the commercial, residential and healthcare sectors, teaming up with a selection of leading clients to produce inspiring architectural developments.

This is a hands on position and this Practice are particularly interested in hearing from Senior Architects (5+ years post part III) with excellent job running skills and a strong eye for conceptual design.

Successful candidates will have proven ability to lead, maintain and develop client relations and strategically drive design and production within the practice with a view to working towards a more senior position within the practice. This role plays an integral part in the practices continuing expansion into its chosen fields.

Duties and responsibilities

* Developing initial design ideas with the client to ascertain exact requirements, budget, building usage and impact on the local community and environment.
* Assessing sites and preparing feasibility proposals.
* Preparing detailed design proposals.
* Presenting the design proposals to clients.
* Preparing planning applications and presentations.
* Once the designs have been approved, produce or co-ordinate the production of detailed drawings for the tender and construction of the works.
* Project management
* Specifying the nature and quality of materials required.
* Negotiating with contractors and other professionals.
* Making site visits to check on progress and inspect work
* Making sure that the project is running within the agreed time frame and budgets.
* Managing and resolving problems that might come up during the project.
* Communication:
* Advising clients on the practicality of their project.
* meeting and liaising with clients and establishing good working relationships with necessary
* Advising clients at all stages of a project on progress, timescales, etc.
* Liaising with local planning, building control department and other statutory bodies and outside organisation.

Person Specification:
* 5 years post qualification experience ARB/RIBA
* Previous experience working on a variety of projects would be an advantage
* Software proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit is required
* Strong portfolio showing individual design development.
* Very high standards of accuracy and presentation
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Enthusiasm for developing work skills and job specific knowledge for self and team
