Fantastic opportunity to progress within this forward thinking, leading business with an international focus. My client, a magic circle law firm that are currently looking for an Expatriate & Employment Tax Assistant to be based in their swanky Head Office in London.

The role is to support employees who are working abroad and the expat community in ensuring the Firm and the mobile workforce are tax compliant.

Duties include;

* International assignment briefing and compliance, arranging and attending tax meetings, preparing meeting packs and notes
* Assisting with the preparation of the monthly overseas expatriate payrolls
* Reviewing and updating the UK Tax Payment Schedule to ensure efficient cash management
* Drawing up payment orders
* Ensuring tax payments are up to date and recorded - providing statutory charging instructions to payment services and answering queries, obtaining charging details, recording incoming and outgoing tax payments, contacting individuals in relation to payments, raising anomalies to Expat tax advisors, ensuring Tax Equalisation Calculations are in place for review
* Assisting with the management of Trainee moves - liaising with trainee solicitors and ensuring the relevant Double Tax Treaty "DTT" is met
* Collating and monitoring travel information, assisting with the drafting of Trainee hand-outs, researching current DTT's in relevant jurisdictions, escalating potential taxable trainees to Expat advisors, liaising with overseas offices to obtain Certificates of Residence, ensuring the tax compliance and administration for Moscow and Singapore trainees is completed.
* Responsibility for the tax compliance in relation to short-term business visitors to the UK (STBV): assisting with applications to HMRC for Treaty exemption
* Liaison with external advisor to ensure efficient management of the UK tax return season (approx. 200 UK tax returns annually) chasing tax return questionnaires, organisers and e-filing, uploading relevant documents to provider's database
* Filing, scanning, photocopying, stationery ordering, and ad-hoc duties

The role would ideally suit someone who has worked in a corporate environment who is highly organised and used to compliance activities. Applicants from the 'Big 4' would be at a distinct advantage and also would consider graduates who have had some work experience as full training will be given. All candidates should be able to demonstrate the following;
