The Company

This company has over 40 years of experience providing customers tailored powertrain engineering and test system solutions. Their innovative solutions support customers' needs throughout the entire engine and powertrain development process, from initial research to production.

The Role

Working in the Instrumentation and Test Systems division you will be managing existing OEM Tier 1 and Tier 2 accounts with a sharp eye to develop new business also. Account management would be 75% with new business activity 25%. The role will see you be based in the Midlands however there is scope to work across the UK depending on business requirements.

• To foster good working relationships with all customers
• To regularly visit key staff within the group at their various sites.
• To actively seek sales leads within the customer groups and to be their focal point for inquiries
• To create and present quotations
• To negotiate and close orders within the prescribed limits of authority.
• To call and hold sales ‘Hand-over’ meetings for all projects ordered by the customers as required by the sales process
• To ensure update and synchronisation of all quotations with the head office system.
• To liaise closely with the project manager(s) dealing with current projects to ensure harmonious working and mutual support between the various functions of both companies
• To maintain a suitable level of expertise with sales software
• To maintain a suitable level of expertise with the product portfolio
• To develop and maintain good working relationships with worldwide colleagues
• To attend management group meetings at the office as required
• To represent UK senior management as reasonably required by the Company Directors
• To carry out any other duties as reasonably required commensurate with the nature of the job and level of responsibility

You

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales to the automotive or allied industries
• High level of negotiating, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Degree Educated. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automotive Manufacturing
• Strong numerical skills
• Skilled user of the Microsoft office suite and generally IT literate
• Preferably skilled and experienced in at least one area of engine or vehicle test technology
• Experience of Salesforce.com desirable
• Full UK valid Driving license
• Ability to travel internationally as required

Package

Paying £45,000 – £60,000 basic with comms, car, pension, 25 days holiday.
