This position is responsible for the study and introduction of the latest technologically advanced manufacturing methodologies, tools, processes and equipment into LE manufacturing facilities, to suit LE's current and future Product ranges. Simultaneously, be part of and support New product introductions and improve techniques of current ones. This position will also be responsible for participating in and leading projects targeted towards improving cost, quality, delivery, and safety.
Key Accountabilities
Develop, document and implement strategy on manufacturing methods equipment for the production of new and current products
Study, Design and implement manufacturing tooling to improve workplace safety, workstation ergonomics, operator productivity and product quality
Seek development opportunities and experiment with new approaches and practices to stay current in the business environment.
Review engineering changes and take appropriate measures to ensure all product documentation for the affected operations (methods, Bill of Materials, test procedures, etc…) are updated to support the change prior to release to production.
Analyse report and optimise production cost structure.
Develop and implement changes in operational workflow as needed to improve and accelerate the flow of product through the facility.
Plan, manage, track and report capital and expenses related to Annual Managed Expenditure portion of projects.
Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis review, facilitate Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and Design For Manufacturing reviews.
Lead the development of global manufacturing engineering standards.
Partner with internal resources to develop capable equipment suppliers.
Maintain broad knowledge of product design, manufacture and assembly techniques.
Communicate with vendors to understand and determine product specifications.
Purchase and arrange production equipment, materials, and parts based on product specifications.
Estimate resource requirements, workload assignment, production times and schedule for manufacturing processes.
Coordinate with design, sales and operations teams to develop manufacturing plans for new products to achieve corporate cost and quality objectives.
Supervise engineering team and manufacturing team to execute and deliver products within approved timelines and budget.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed by your line manager.

The ability to take multiple paths to resolve issues, including using own technical skills up to contacting/scheduling/overseeing external service providers
Strong hands-on problem solving skills

Able to frequently travel overseas up to few weeks at a time
Extensive experience in a manufacturing (Aerospace, Automotive or Hi-Tech Electronics) environment
Factory Automation & or Robotics application in Manufacturing
Experience in Laser Welding
Knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0 Automation and best in class efficiency
Knowledge of Industrial engineering Technology & Automation, Lean manufacturing principle
2D and 3D mechanical (tool/fixture/cell) design experience desired.
Six sigma trained or certified preferred.
Proficient in MS office software
New products launch and project management experience.
Strong test equipment development experience.
Significant experience of working in a multi-national, matrix organisation
Knowledge of health, safety, ergonomics and environmental regulations and practice
Degree in science and engineering
Salary offered is £50-£65k, 37.5 hour week, private medical care, pension, 25 days holiday along with plenty of parking at the location
