As one of the Midlands largest groundwork companies my client have achieved an annual turnover in 2017 of circa £50m.

With work across the whole of the Midlands the company specialise in Groundworks, Earthworks, Piling, Foundations and specialist Civil Engineering projects.

Having successfully established a reputation within the industry for quality and high levels of productivity the company are now in a position to increase the size of their commercial team with the addition of a Quantity Surveyor to the group.

Your Job

My client currently require a Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the already well established Commercial Team to work across a range of prospective, live and completed projects from start to completion.

As Quantity Surveyor you will,

* Work with multiple site based commercial teams to ensure good practice across the business
* Increase profitability of all projects through the management of junior commercial staff
* Conduct negotiations with clients and sub-contractors
* Oversee the management of subcontract procurement from initial enquiry to placement of order
* Manage other commercial staff to supervise multiple subcontractor accounts through regular reporting and meetings with on site Quantity Surveyors
* Reporting to the Commercial Manager on the commercial status of all civil engineering based projects
* Develop the company supply chain relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors for the benefit of the project and future contracts

Your Skills

* You will have held a similar position with a groundworks based Civil Engineering Contractor previously
* You will have previous commercial experience on groundworks / earthworks projects
* You will have the ability to manage multiple Quantity Surveyors across a range of projects at any one time
* You'll enjoy challenging and diverse projects
* Strong commercial and contract knowledge and experience using NEC family of contracts
