Main Purpose of Role

Provide routine and breakdown maintenance for a number of contracts. Provide technical support to other engineers.

Key Accountabilities

* Carry out maintenance/installation tasks on Fire Systems as allocated by Contract Manager
* Direct sub-contractors for specialised work
* Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time. (i.e. Certification, site service reports, L & E reports, Site documents)
* Develop customer tailored job documentation
* Maintain customer relationships and assist contract retention (i.e. report to customer on arrival and when leaving site, keep customer informed of work/progress, build relationship with key customer contacts)
* Report on activities, opportunities within customer base
* Seek out opportunities to develop client sites to generate additional business
* Provide sales leads where opportunities exist.
* Contribute to work experience of apprentices

Available for 24 hours standby/call out, overtime and co-ordination duties

Specific Knowledge & Experience Required

* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Fire role
* Full working knowledge of BS 5839
* Experience in Fire Systems, both in-house and competitors
* Self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative
* Strong problem solving capabilities with excellent customer service skills
* Flexible with approach to work and able to change a pre-planned schedule to fit in with changing demands
* Recognized apprenticeship preferred
* C&G or NVQ qualified
