Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
As an Oracle DBA you will have a proven track record of supporting and maintaining key business applications. This particular role will involve supporting a number of business critical database applications, troubleshooting and determining the appropriate course of action to resolve incidents with minimal disruption and impact.
Main Features of the Role
The ideal candidates will work as part of a team, supporting various clients and delivering against agreed SLA’s.
Responsibilities will include:
Creating and maintaining all oracle databases, performing ongoing tuning as well as planning and implementing backup and recovery of the database
Working with application developers and system administrators to ensure that upgrades take place with minimal impact
Installation of new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and any other tools that access the Oracle database
Implementing security of the Oracle Databases
Providing technical support to application development teams and being the point of contact for Oracle Corporation
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting versions 9i to 12c
- Experience of the following Oracle database features: RMAN, Data Guard, RAC clusters, OEM, as well as database installation, upgrading and patching
- Experienced in Shell scripting and sound knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Strong database and SQL tuning and troubleshooting skills
Excellent knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
A good knowledge of Oracle security management
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal
- Team Player
Knowledge of JBoss and Weblogic
Experience working under pressure in order to meet agreed SLAs
The successful candidates must be willing to undergo a clearance process.
