Senior Leadership/Programme Officer - DBS - Birmingham

A youth charity in Birmingham is currently seeking a Senior Leadership/Impact Officer. The charity challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time voluntary work as mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they also support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

This is a part-time role that we are recruiting for and will be 50% of a full time role (21 hours per week).
The proposed make-up of working days and hours for this role will be discussed at interview, and will need to be agreed with a suitable candidate prior to an appointment.

Overview of the role -

The Senior Leadership, known internally as Impact Officer (IO), is based predominantly in a partner school and is the primary link between school and the charity. You will be the custodian of the clients culture in the school and will be responsible for managing the team as well as coordinating, monitoring and the evaluating all the activities that the charity provides. The IO is the main communication link to all parties involved.

Responsibilities -

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the management, training and retention of corps members. You will have pastoral oversight for the team and their relationships with those who come into contact with (children, parents, education professionals, funders and other stakeholders). IOs also monitor and evaluate the progress of the company’s corps members throughout their service year.

Hours -

The working preference is for some presence in the role at least 3-4 days per week, subject to the clients needs. Flexibility will be key. There may also be a need to take calls outside of the 'normal working hours'; time spent on calls will be a part of the allocated 21 hours per week. No overtime is available.

Salary range £11,000 - £12,000 per annum dependant on experience (part time annual salary).
