Position: Strategic National Business Development Manager - Property Maintenance

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 plus bonus, car & benefits

Location: Nationwide


Strategic National Business Development Manager will own the key role securing future tender opportunities with target clients of strategic importance to the business. They will be expected to have a medium/long term focus on opportunities that are a good fit for the business and with a particular emphasis on growing the hospitality & leisure, education and healthcare markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* This national role is one that is geared towards generating higher value & volume opportunities for the business in key target sectors identified by the Board / Head of Sales as having future potential.
* Work with the Head of Sales and Senior Management to produce a strategic business plan that will research these sectors, identify the influences / key drivers within them, create a client / consultant target list and most importantly execute this plan.
* Deliver against and report on challenging financial targets – the key measurements of success will be the value of tender opportunity generated for the business.
* Liaise with Marketing to develop all necessary marketing collateral required to do the job, identify appropriate exhibitions & networking events and generate campaigns to engage the agreed target clients & sectors.

* Work closely with Local Offices and National Projects Operational teams to ensure excellent communication lines are established and maintained to assist & support with client engagement.
* Work closely with Local Offices and National Projects to ensure timely submission of bids and return of tenders in line with client requirements, at all times providing clear & concise dialogue to the client and Operational teams.
* Work closely with the regional Business Development Managers to establish and develop synergies and in turn maximize the opportunity that these synergies present to the business.
* Own all aspects of Business Development reporting both directly and via administrative support, delivering a consistent and transparent information flow through the required reports and systems.
* You will need to apply integrity at all times, especially when dealing with any confidential information, internal or external.
* Manager your time to ensure you are focused and well managed while also attaining individual sales targets.
* Any other ad hoc duties in relation to Business Development projects as directed by Head of Sales that assist with delivery of the (Apply online only) Business Plan.


* A minimum 5 years’ experience in field sales, preferably with knowledge of the hospitality & leisure, healthcare and education sectors.
* An understanding of the services that we offer as well as knowledge of some of the sectors in which we operate is essential (although an understanding of social housing, despite being circa 50% of our business is not necessary as this role has very little involvement in this sector).
* An experience and proven track record of building customer relationships through consultative selling and subsequent forming of partnerships.
* Have the ability to problem solve and create innovative solutions that present the company as the most professional provider of maintenance and refurb services in the market.
* A proven track record of building value propositions to drive new business wins.
* To have great drive, enthusiasm, willingness and a "can do" attitude at all times.
* To have the ability to evolve as our business does – be able to adapt, be flexible & pragmatic.
* Be keen and prepared to learn & tailor their approach to other sectors as required by the business.
* The ability to deliver results and maintain a hunger to succeed without constant supervision.
* The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues.
* Verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
* Written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
