The Company

Our client is a busy Manufacturing company based in the North West of England. Due to recent expansion they are now looking for a Manufacturing Manager to come and join their team.

The role

* Lead the day to day activities of a team of Mechanical and Electrical technicians, assembly operators, manufacturing engineers.
* Review manufacturing and installation workload, adjusting capacity accordingly where necessary.
* Keep Commercial and Project teams updated during project lifecycle.
* Work closely with and provide leadership to the Production Planning team.
* Work closely with an provide leadership to Materials Management team
* Work closely with Facilities team to assess infrastructure requirements.
* Reviews and approves manufacturing content of new customer quotations.
* Supports New Product Development (NPD) opportunities and the transfer of existing products from other sites into the Manchester CoE
* Represents the Manufacturing department during customer visits.
* Developing systems and procedures to support ongoing ISO 9001 certification.
* Establishing productivity metrics utilising MRP functionality.
* Driving MRP utilization as the primary tool for managing the business.
* Developing metrics and driving a culture of on-time delivery.
* Leading a culture of continuous improvement

The candidate:

* Bachelor (Hons) degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* Member of a recognised engineering institution and a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
* Experienced in managing within an MRP II environment and possess sufficient depth of understanding to comprehend day to day issues that arise and provide the necessary leadership in driving solutions.
* Knowledgeable in supply chain practices.
* Holds a recognised health and safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent)
* Competent in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
* A recognised qualification in Continuous Improvement.
