Job Overview: Further to a successful campaign of business growth, we are working closely with one of our injection moulding manufacturing partners to appoint X2 Injection Moulding Setter Supervisors. EXPIRES 16/10/17

The role of the Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor will be to oversee the running of the Company’s manufacturing facilities on a shift basis, to ensure that the Company’s facilities and equipment are maintained and operated in a safe & efficient manner, to assign tasks to direct reports and to oversee Setters & Operators in the manufacturing area, training operators and maintaining training records. In addition as an Injection Moulding Setter Supervisor you will be responsible for liaising with Setters/Technicians regarding timing of tool changes and to work with both setting and quality staff to ensure that changes are carried out in an efficient and safe manner.

Main Tasks:
• To oversee the running of the Company’s manufacturing facilities on a shift basis.
• To ensure that the Company’s facilities and equipment are maintained and operated in a safe & efficient manner.
• To assign tasks to direct reports and to oversee where necessary the actions of indirect reports working within the manufacturing area.
• To ensure that all operatives are correctly equipped with suitable clothing, PPE, tools etc necessary to undertake their tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
• To ensure that operatives are trained suitably for the tasks to be undertaken in the area and that the company training records are maintained accordingly.
• To liaise with Setters/Technicians regarding timing of tool changes and to work with both setting and quality staff to ensure that changes are carried out in an efficient and safe manner with minimum scrap and machine downtime.
• To ensure that first off/last off procedures are adhered to and that machines are handed over to operating staff in a clean and safe condition.
• To liaise with quality staff regarding quality performance and to instruct setting/technical staff to attend to issues as and when they arise and to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Where mechanical breakdowns or tooling issues occur shift leaders should liaise with the Maintenance or Tooling Technician to attend to the issue ensuring that the machine/equipment/tooling is left in a safe condition.
• Shift leaders are responsible for organising and covering breaks in the most efficient way always trying to maintain the maximum possible production output with the minimum possible downtime.
• Shift leaders must ensure that the company’s Mattec production system is kept updated at all times to reflect an accurate position of running/performance in the manufacturing areas.
• Correct packaging should be made available at all times at the same time considering access and space requirements of the area.
• To maintain & action 5S (housekeeping) activities within the mould shop & associated areas.
• To actively support Continuous Improvement activities and undertake/action any specified maintenance of plant & equipment. Where required to carry out any Quality related auditing/sorting actions

Specific Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring that all reports and other personnel within the manufacturing areas are suitably equipped (PPE) and working in a safe manner.
• Responsible for ensuring that production output meets specified targets.
• Responsible for maintaining production Quality.
• Responsible for the discipline of direct reports. Maintaining & operating in line with the systems outlined in the Company’s Quality Systems Manual.
• Wherever possible ensuring that all resources of the manufacturing areas are used in the most efficient way possible.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of injection moulding process and related materials and equipment
• Computer literate
• Good communicator
• Self-motivated
• Target driven
• Good inter personnel skills
