BDS are currently recruiting on behalf of our client a large charitable organisation for a HR Business Partner.

Purpose of the job

To provide a consistent and efficient People Management service to managers and staff, covering both advice and assistance, across key People result areas. Ensure that the capability and skills of the managers enable the delivery of strategic objectives and functions, and that equality focus and expertise is maintained.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Support designated Directors, Heads of Department and line managers in getting the best from their people in order to meet strategic organisational objectives and functions, advising on recruitment, performance management, grievance/disciplinary issues, succession planning, change management, Tupe.
2. Provide expert advice on employment law and the handling of related situations in accordance with published policies.
3. Ensure that the organisation maintains an equality focus and expertise.
4. Provide detailed advice on the handling of grievance, disciplinary, harassment, performance and sickness absence matters and where necessary act in a mediation role to seek to resolve disputes.
5. Liaise and consult with trade union representatives and officials on employee relations’ matters.
6. Develop effective working relationships and communications with key customers and stakeholders.
7. Provide coaching, and deliver training, presentations and briefings as necessary on human resources related issues.
8. Undertake and manage specific projects and undertake cross-functional roles as required from time to time.
9. Contribute to the development and implementation of the HR Strategy.
10. Attend national, regional or local meetings on relevant matters when required, as a representative of the HR team.
11. Undertake any other appropriate duties as assigned by the Director of HR&OD/Head of HR Operations.


1. Engage fully in regular supervision with your line manager.
2. Adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and comply with legislation and statutory duties and data controls protocols.
3. Ensure individual expertise and subject area knowledge is up to date through Continuous Personal Development, including sharing good practice, engaging with training and acquiring / maintaining any individual qualifications required of the role.
4. As necessary, and in addition to the above, undertake other activities commensurate with the nature of the post.

This role is an ongoing temporary position but there is a possibility of the post becoming permanent for the right person. The salary on offer is up to £50k and the working hours are Monday - Friday (Apply online only). Please apply now for immediate consideration
