Job Title:​ Restaurant and Bar Manager

Salary: ​ £22,000 up to £27,000 (Continuous reviews are provided in the role, therefore earning potential is high and rewarded on performance)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Restaurant and Bar Manager to be part of a dedicated, award winning team. This position requires the individual to be passionate, dedicated, immaculate and process driven in providing the best possible service to its new and long standing returning guests. A Restaurant and Bar Manager with the best mentoring skills and who works by example for it's existing employees. - you must be fully hands on and not expect your staff to do anything you wouldn't do yourself on a daily basis. This isn't a desk job.

You would be welcomed into a team that only strive for the best and achieve it. The position does have career progression and added role responsibilities as and when agreed.

Primary role purpose for the Restaurant and Bar Manager:

* Coordinate the entire operation of the Restaurant and Bar.

* Deliver excellence in customer service, maximising profits and exploiting opportunities for business growth.

* Adhere to and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and cleanliness at all times.

* To have and maintain a high standard of product knowledge with regards to the restaurant and

wine menus.

* Check on guest satisfaction and respond to guest queries/complaints immediately and to ensure they are dealt with to the satisfaction of the customer whilst adhering to the complaints procedure.

* To be fully aware of the hotel sales packages and promotions ensuring that the department is prepared for such offers.

* Ensure that all restaurant reservations are taken correctly and uploaded onto the restaurant diary system.

* Planning, organising and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of service and guest satisfaction.

* Make recommendations to improve service / standards within the Restaurant and Bar Department.

* A general knowledge and understanding of the Opera PMS.

* Oversee the ordering and receiving of stock to maintain appropriate inventory levels necessary for the efficient operation of the department.

* To ensure all maintenance issues observed and reported are passed on to the maintenance team.

* Implement and maintain a high positive Health and Safety culture ensuring that Company Health and Safety systems and procedures are understood and adhered to.

* Ensure that policies, procedures and reporting systems are adhered to.

* To ensure that all departmental risk assessments, standard operating procedures and safety management systems are current and reviewed regularly ensuring that documentation is loaded onto the IT system

* Oversee recruitment, training and motivation of employees within the department.

* Devise a weekly restaurant rota that schedules in line with business demands.

* As the restaurant and bar manager, you will ensure that the payroll system is adhered to and entered correctly, ensuring that team members have completed a time sheet where applicable.

* To attend regular HOD meetings and hold monthly departmental meetings which are to be recorded.

* To provide a high standard of customer service, by ensuring every customer is treated in a friendly and helpful manner and that all customer enquiries are dealt with in a positive way.

* To give both internal and external customers quality service.

* To plan and conduct training programmes for assigned staff ensuring that such activity is recorded.

* Evaluate and monitor staff performance to ensure that required standards are met.

* To ensure that cash and security procedures are adhered to.

* Analysing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability.

* To ensure all necessary information is documented accurately maintaining confidentiality, where appropriate.

* Ability to liaise with Heads of Departments and Managers to ensure that lines of communication are open and used.

* To produce reports and to attend such meetings as and when required both internally and externally.
