My client, a large organisation in Caerphilly is looking for a Finance Trainer to join their team for a minimum period of 3 months.

Job Purpose
Establish and satisfy the corporate financial training needs of service areas, and provide post-training support and advice services.
Maintain security modules of the corporate financial system.
Customise the corporate financial system to meet the needs of the Authority.
Assist with the development and implementation of current and future software.

Duties include;

Training and Helpdesk
Identify training needs and develop training programmes to satisfy those needs.
Plan, prepare and deliver training, including one to one training where necessary, ensuring the training is timely, appropriate and friendly.
Assist in the development and maintenance of e-learning modules.
Prepare and regularly review training and system manuals.
Provide user support by means of the helpdesk service and site visits, as required.
Participate in best practice working groups and system demonstrations, as appropriate.
Collate and analyse the feedback from training sessions and report results as required to the Development/Training Officer.

Implement, test, maintain and develop all security systems for the designated financial software.
Maintain the user database and all associated tables, in accordance with the requirements of Service Areas.

Assist the Development/Training Officer and Ledger Manager to develop a corporate financial system which all complement user surveys, enable best practice and meet the Authority’s business requirements.
Customise the system, using available screen adaptation software.
Assist the Development/Training Officer with project work, system modifications and ‘fixes’ in relation to any aspect of ledger services.

Familiar with all system functions and supporting software applications in order to provide cover for the Development/Training Officer when needed, and to assist in any future software implementations.
Supervise the Ledger Assistant and any other temporary staff that may be appointed from time to time.
Assist the Development/Training Officer and Ledger Manager in devising procedures which optimise both customer orientation and economy.
Assist in the examination of system queries, problems and faults, as necessary.
Assist with the supervision and the training of supporting staff to ensure acceptable standards of performance are maintained.
Assist with system operational services, as required by the Ledger Manager.
Perform any other duties required by the Development/Training Officer, Ledger Manager and Group Accountant.

Person Spec
You will be at least AAT Qualified.
An understanding of financial systems and procedures involving integrated modules such as General Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Sales Invoicing.
Knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
A theoretical understanding of training methods.
Proficiency with software, including Microsoft Office applications.
Experience of developing a programme of training.
Delivery of training.
Experience of supervising staff.
