Salary £40K to £45K subject to experience

A well established Lloyd's of London Reinsurance Broker are looking to recruit a Cargo Reinsurance Account Executive with a minimum of 5 years experience within this field.

The Role:

Managerial Responsibilities

  • None

Principal Tasks

  • Reviewing renewals / new submissions and preparing market presentations.
  • Preparing placing documentation including but not limited to Market Reform Contracts (MRC) and Endorsements.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate and comprehensive files reflecting the transactions undertaken on behalf of clients.
  • Inviting and monitoring renewal instructions.
  • Negotiating insurance contracts with underwriters, as required.
  • Constructively managing relationships with and servicing existing and potential clients and underwriters, all in a manner that contributes to the efforts of the Division to meet and exceed its targets.
  • Generally providing support to the producers/brokers within the Division.
  • Undertaking timely and accurate due diligence processes for clients and markets according to FCA standards.
  • Carrying out such projects and other duties and tasks as may from time to time be required.

Generic Knowledge Requirements

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of Cargo, Stock Throughput and Stock insurance and/or reinsurance.
  • Good working knowledge of the underwriters and markets in which the Cargo Reinsurance team trades; and their practices, documentation and customs.
  • Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Law of Agency and the Law of Contract to be able to perform the Principal Tasks.
  • Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal Tasks.
  • Ability to work within changing working processes and procedures.
  • Awareness of legal and jurisdictional requirements in territorial limits worked on and maintenance of up to date knowledge of current market practices.
  • Knowledge of Market Reform processes and E-Endorsement procedure.

Competencies Required

  • Ability to produce Market Reform Contracts and Endorsements and maintain awareness of changing requirements.
  • Ability to assist producers/brokers with the development of new business.
  • Ability to retain existing business and the confidence of the clients and underwriters.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and underwriters.
  • Ability to understand and interpret customers’ needs and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the Cargo Reinsurance team and respect and support colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Computer literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages.
  • Experience in the use of London Market processes and systems.
