A Collateral Management Analyst is sough to join a global financial services business based in Birmingham City Centre.

The appointed Collateral Management Analyst will have strong academics and ideally have experience gained within the Banking or wider financial services arena. Hands on Collateral Management experience would be highly advantageous.

Collateral Management as a division have a high client service focus and interact with a broad range of external clients including Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Private Wealth Clients, Insurance Companies, Asset Managers as well as other Banks and Financial Institutions both large and small.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with and challenging internal teams
  • Interacting with and supporting the enhancement of Birmingham's Collateral management reputation globally
  • Supervising team work-flow
  • Be a first point of escalation with the team
  • Fostering and supporting the development of the wider team
  • Enforcing positive team behaviours/ challenge bad practice
  • Working with a range of Operational and Front office management/ stakeholders to adapt to meet client and business needs
  • Performing Business Requirement Document reviews
  • Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) ahead of system enhancement releases
  • Escalating unresolved margin calls to management
  • Approving cash and security collateral moves
  • Approving of Regulatory reporting
  • Investigating and resolving basic, ad-hoc and complex queries from internal and external clients
  • Supporting management with Audits

Key Skills, Requirements and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a Banking or Financial Services organisation
  • Collateral experience is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and prioritise multiple tasks that have potential operational risk impact
  • Collateral or security lending experience is preferable
