An independent, reputable Language School in London is looking to recruit a CIPD qualified/ part qualified Human Resources Administrator/Assistant to support their busy HR Department.

Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 pro rata (depending on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 35 hours per week, 0900-1700, Monday-Friday
Contract: full-time, permanent

Job Purpose:
To assist the HR Department and in delivering and administering the Human Resources function.

Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of one year's experience in a Human Resources department
- Experience in an administrative position
- Proven organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information relating to the role
- A keen attention to detail
- Competence in a number of IT packages, including HR databases
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with basic numerical information and financial records
- Ability to prioritise work and work effectively under pressure
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a small team

Desirable:
- Part- or fully-qualified CIPD, or willingness to complete CIPD training, or educated to degree level in Human Resources
- Experience of working in an educational environment

Main Job Functions:
- To provide a complete HR administration service in respect of recruitment, payroll, sickness/absence and HR records.
- To provide general advice/ guidance and escalating queries as required. Ensuring consistency and process are in place for HR Manager to be informed of potential Employee Relations issues.
- To provide initial HR advice and guidance as appropriate, referring staff to the HR Manager and Recruitment Coordinator as required.
- To be pro-active in improving processes and ensuring legal compliance.
- To adapt to changing business needs, re-prioritising as necessary and working closely with the HR team to ensure an effective and high value service is provided to our customers.
- To work collaboratively with the rest of the HR team to ensure standard processes and procedures are understood, complied with and amended as required.
- To support the HR Manager in the continuous development of the administration function, ensuring processes and procedures are efficient and consistent.
