Devops Manager (Linux) - Help scale a growing .com - AWS/ docker - Move to Head of Operations

Following recent investment of over $50,000,000 this internationally renowned and rapidly scaling cloud first mobile security software provider are looking for an Infrastructure manager to move into a Head of IT operations position as the company rapidly scale their current infrastructure to cope with recent growth.

With offices in London and the US and over 500 clients worldwide these guys are pioneers in what they do and are leading the market with their software which is changing the way companies are defending themselves from security vulnerabilities in their mobile applications.

The company are on the bleeding edge of technology with a data heavy backend using machine learning to predict and detect security threats. Additionally, they are accepting of the latest principle around 'devops' and have a fully automated infrastructure as code/ automate deployment pipeline with the application completed hosted in AWS.

Given the recent growth the company are looking for an infrastructure manager to join the company and take full ownership of their current operations/ infrastructure team to lead an initial team of 10 which is set to grow. The role will be predominantly managerial supporting and managing the team which currently reports into the CTO to free up time for him to focus on product and strategy.

The remit of the role extends to support and maintain high availability in the company's web and mobile applications and using your experience to implement new process to drive efficiencies and increase the scalability of the current infrastructure as the company continue to scale and grow. Therefore, part of the role will be hands on acting as a final point of escalation for the team and being involved in implementing and researching new technologies that could help this.

What do they need?

Strong experience supporting highly availability internet facing applications.
Strong Linux operations experience
Strong knowledge around cloud technologies: AWS, Rackspace or google cloud
Good knowledge around networking/ security.
Strong understanding around 'devops' and automated deployment.

Overall, you do not need to be an expert in every facet but the company have very high engineering standards and everyone who works here loves technology and is a technologist at heart! Therefore, anyone coming in must love working, researching and implementing the latest technologies.

They are currently working with a number of new technologies such as Docker, ELK and terraform which are technologies you will get to work on.

As mentioned specific experience with different technologies is not required but they are looking for someone who has worked on supporting and managing large scale cloud hosted applications in a fast paced rapid deployment environment.
