A Product Development Engineer is required to join a globally acting manufacturer of plastic closures with 23 factories in 20 countries across the world.

The global company manufactures and sells plastic caps and closures for beverage, food and non-food markets.

Ideally, you will have worked within a Product Development Engineering role working with plastics materials to develop products in line with customer orders and requirements.

Not only will you be articulate and hold the ability to represent the client and customers, you will also have the ability to assist customers to develop product solutions to meet their requirements.

This role will include travel time within the UK and overseas to complete product development ensuring all products are fit for purpose.

Your main duties will be:

• New Product Development - Responsible for the development of new processes, researching current and emerging technologies
• Plan, develop and test all products to customer specification and order requirements
• Ability to understand and apply concepts and principles to solve problems and create solutions for customers
• Evaluating quality and capability of products to drive Continuous Improvement
• To work closely with all departments to deliver results

To be successful as a Product Development Engineer you will ideally have a degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with Product Development experience. You will be an excellent communicator. Having knowledge of plastic materials along with packaging experience would be highly desirable.
